What you are buying

Each print is made to order from a design you configure. The place, colorway, typography, optional date and frame are your choices. Nothing is held in stock, and the production workflow may begin promptly after the server confirms payment.

Current unframed prices are 12 × 16" at $39, 18 × 24" at $59, 24 × 32" at $79, including standard shipping. A frame adds $60 on 12 × 16", $90 on 18 × 24", $120 on 24 × 32". The complete price and any applicable tax are shown before you submit payment. Price changes do not affect an order already placed.

Accuracy of the maps

Contours are computed from Mapzen Terrain Tiles, a global dataset assembled from SRTM and other regional and global elevation sources and served from AWS Open Data. Place positions come from LocationIQ place search, which is built on OpenStreetMap data. Elevations are rounded and terrain is sampled on a grid. The print is decorative, not a survey document.

Data licensing

Elevation-source licenses and required credits vary by region. The Mapzen Terrain Tiles attribution document lists them. Place search is provided by LocationIQ and returns OpenStreetMap data, which is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License. Typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License. Country flags are used under the MIT license; U.S. state flag artwork is public domain. Which state a searched place falls in is decided from U.S. Census Bureau state boundaries, public-domain data packaged by us-atlas under the ISC license.

Use of the product

Buying a print does not grant a license to reproduce or commercially resell the site artwork or layout. Place names and dates you provide are printed as entered. Do not submit unlawful, infringing or harassing content. An order may be refused and refunded when necessary.

Liability and mandatory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent the law allows, remedies for a damaged, defective or incorrect product are those described in the Shipping, Returns & Refunds policy. The law and courts that apply to a dispute are determined by the consumer-protection and conflict-of-law rules that have jurisdiction over the purchase.
